I’m done it! I hope to add a rig to it next week or two and figure out how to give his body a soft body type feel so that it looks like it’s filled with stuffing when animated. A lot of work. Finally finished a project i’d been putting off for months. The wood texture is horrible, but my main focus was on modeling the meshes and glass materials. But mainly the meshes. I’ll put up the screenshots of just the meshes tonight.

Another of my interests is music, for which i’m currently focusing on composing and trying to evoke certain moods. For that purpose i made this neat and short and VERY simple soundtrack for an old animation enjoy. Hopefully my work will be far better in the future, but everyone starts somewhere.

Render of a crystal glass i made. Shadow not really there. But that’s not why i was modeling it. The edges are a little boxy, but i’ll figure out how to prevent that next time. The main point was just mesh modeling experience, and material experimentation.

It's made out of frozen lime juice, so whatever drink is inside tastes limish. Drink quickly.

I’m attacking blender outside of the tutorials, and trying to get good at each aspect as i need it. I’m working toward a short film, the working title of which is ‘Black and White’. I’ll post more about that later. But i’m practicing sculpting now, and this is the first result of the effort:

Not much, but i want to track my progress as i go. Those eyes are sorta creepy looking. But no matter. More in the future. When i get a sculpt  i like i’m onto rigging, skinning, and animating.

I’m trying to work on projects and learning the skills i need as i go. It’s a lot more motivating.

I haven’t been working here for a while. So i started again, adn got through a tutorial, but i forgot to reset the bone roll and rotations before i started skinning, so i’m gonna redo it. Here’s a few poses with the rig i created. I did NOT create the mesh or the textures. Those are light years ahead of me.

This doesn't even get close to describing the complexity of this. Every bone you see had to have programmed into it a relationship to another bone so that it could be posed. I love it. :)

So yeah. I need to do it over again to make sure i understand the concepts. So, i’m gonna redo it and then redk the walk animation tutorial. Cause i need that too. This time i’ll make the walk cycle a video and put it up here. Anyways. Blender has come back into my life as i realized i need to throw together a portfolio for colleges for scholarships. So. Work is ahead. But i think i can take it. And if i can’t… Well… i guess i’ll find out.

Oh! And on another note, i transcribed Postcards From Faraway onto sheet music. I’m gonna clean it up and scan it in and put it up here for people to learn. I don’t think that’s illegal cause i’m not earning money, and coldplay doesn’t have any sheet music for it yet. I’ll find out i guess.

I spent a while making this ogre… and it turned out purple… which wasn’t fun, but i spent half an hour on it and it turned this lovely shade of grey after i tweaked the texture settings. Apparently almost all of the textures are set to change the color to purple… weird…

I love this ogre.

Anyways, with the wonder that is mesh sculpting, i’m sure there are more ogres and wonderful fluffy creatures to come.

So i got the following weird squiggle to grow from the ground but my computer is too slow to render all 250 images, i’m gonna try to bake the image or something to make it grow and be able to render it.
